A pioneer of the San Jacinto Valley, he was a Judge and longtime Justice of the Peace in Hemet. He was a prominent land owner. In addition to having served as one of the trustees of Hemet Union High School he had many years involvement with the Florida Water Company and the Lake Hemet Company serving as superintendent of the pipe systems. He was a member of the G.A.R.
